Torrent Water Treatment Systems
The Torrent Water Treatment System isn't just a Water Softener, it's something fundamentally different. While a traditional Water Softener removes Water Hardness minerals from water through ion exchange (swapping calcium and magnesium for sodium), Torrent uses a proprietary, multi-stage Reverse Osmosis process to remove hardness AND virtually everything else dissolved in your water: Chlorine, pharmaceuticals, heavy metals, and other contaminants. No salt, no brine discharge, just clean water at every tap.
Founded in 2009, Torrent Water Systems has been designing and manufacturing its systems in Ontario ever since, relocating to Brantford in 2020 to expand production and serve the communities with some of the most significant hard water challenges in the province. Every Torrent system is engineered, designed, and assembled exclusively in Canada, and its purification performance has been laboratory tested and verified by an accredited third party.
A conventional Water Softener only addresses Water Hardness, and does so by adding sodium to your water while discharging chloride into the environment. Torrent removes hardness in a similar manner, but instead of replacing it with sodium, it removes it along with the majority of everything else dissolved in your water, using no salt at all.
Unlike conventional whole-home Reverse Osmosis systems, which are often wasteful and require open storage tanks and noisy re-pressurization pumps, Torrent's engineered flowpath keeps treated water sanitary and pressurized at all times in a compact, quiet unit.
